Home & Office Wi-Fi Setup in Brooklyn & NYC
Home & Office Wi-Fi Setup in Brooklyn & NYC
Dead spots, slow speeds, dropped video calls, printers nobody can find — fixed. Wi-Fi 6 mesh, business routers, smart-home setup, gigabit Ethernet. Brooklyn-based, NYC service area.
💰 Starting at $150 — on-site Wi-Fi survey + install; equipment quoted separately
Your Wi-Fi reaches the kitchen but not the bedroom. Video calls freeze every time the printer prints. You bought a mesh kit and it still doesn’t work in the back of the apartment. The router your ISP gave you is from 2018 and sounds like a hair dryer. We fix all of this on-site, usually in one visit.
We come out, survey the actual signal strength in every room, place real access points where they belong, and leave you with a network that works on the same SSID end-to-end — phones roam between APs without dropping calls.
What you get
- ✓On-site Wi-Fi survey — we map signal strength in every room before placing anything
- ✓Wi-Fi 6 mesh systems (Eero, TP-Link, Asus, Ubiquiti UniFi) installed and tuned
- ✓ISP router replaced with a real business-grade router when needed
- ✓Single SSID across the whole space — devices roam between APs cleanly
- ✓Gigabit Ethernet drops for desks, TVs, printers and game consoles
- ✓Guest Wi-Fi separated from your main network so visitors can’t see your devices
- ✓Smart-home setup — Nest, Ring, smart lights, smart speakers, smart locks
- ✓Printer setup — finally findable by every device in the house
Why your Wi-Fi keeps disappointing you
- Wrong location. ISP installer puts the router in the closet where the cable comes in. Wi-Fi can’t reach through three walls and a refrigerator from there.
- One radio for the whole house. Even the best single router can’t cover an NYC apartment with prewar walls. You need multiple APs.
- Mesh kit sold as a magic bullet. Mesh works when each node has a strong link to the next one. Drop a node in the exact place the signal’s already dying and it just rebroadcasts a weak signal.
- Interference from neighbors. In dense Brooklyn buildings, the 2.4 GHz band is a mess. We push your devices to 5 GHz / 6 GHz where the air’s clean.
- Crap ISP router. The Verizon/Spectrum/Optimum combo box does Wi-Fi badly on purpose, so you keep paying for their extender. We replace it with real gear.
What a typical Brooklyn apartment install looks like
- 30-minute survey. We walk the apartment, check signal at every chair, desk, TV and bed, identify the weak spots and the interference.
- Equipment spec. 2–3 APs for a typical 2-bedroom apartment. Usually wired to each other via Ethernet (best), MoCA over coax (good), or wireless backhaul (works if placement is right).
- Install & tuning. APs mounted or placed where they actually need to be. SSID unified. Channels picked manually to avoid neighbors. Guest network configured.
- Verification walk. We re-walk the apartment with a phone — every room must hit at least 150 Mbps and a sub-30ms ping before we call the job done.
Small offices, salons, retail and DSO clinics
For small offices, salons, retail stores, dental practices and any business that needs Wi-Fi to actually work all day, we install business-grade access points with separate staff, guest and IoT networks, content filtering and centralized monitoring.
If you’re a dental practice opening a new location or refreshing infrastructure, see our dedicated dental office network & server installation page — cabling, server, HIPAA-aware segmentation and chairside Wi-Fi.
Frequently asked questions
▸How much does it cost to set up Wi-Fi in my apartment?
On-site survey, install and tuning starts at $150 labor for a single-AP swap, $250–$400 for a 2–3 AP mesh install. Equipment is quoted separately: a good 2-node Wi-Fi 6 mesh runs $250–$450 retail; we don’t mark up gear.
▸Do I need to buy new gear or can you make my Eero / Google / Nest mesh work?
If your existing gear is Wi-Fi 6 and reasonably modern, we’ll re-place and re-tune what you already own first. Most “broken” mesh networks just need the nodes in the right rooms with the right backhaul. We only recommend new gear if yours is too old (Wi-Fi 5 or older) or genuinely defective.
▸Can you run Ethernet to my desk / TV / office?
Yes. We run Cat6 or Cat6A through walls, ceilings or along baseboards (visible run, neatly finished) depending on the situation. Most NYC apartments we can wire one or two rooms in an afternoon.
▸My ISP says it’s my Wi-Fi’s fault. Is it?
Usually yes — but not always. If the modem itself drops the signal, that’s on the ISP. We diagnose between modem, router and Wi-Fi so you stop getting bounced back and forth.
▸Can you set up my Nest / Ring / smart speakers / smart locks too?
Yes. Once the Wi-Fi works, smart-home device pairing is straightforward. We bundle smart-home setup into the same visit so you don’t have to do it room by room with three different apps over a weekend.
